Come to camp
The 2012 edition of Camp Violon Trad Québec will be held from July 22-27 at Village des jeunes, Saint-Côme, Québec. Learn, practice and share your passion with a whole campful of folks who are fanatic about Québec trad fiddling and repertoire. Visit the pages above to learn more about what a week at camp offers, then make your registration – places are limited and we hate turning away enthusiastic campers!
Instruction
The following is a brief description of the instruction levels offered at camp. If you’re not sure about the level you should choose, please communicate with us and we’ll help you to make the right choice.
Beginner
For participants of all ages who have studied the fiddle for at least two years, and who learn at a slower pace in a small group setting.
Intermediate
For those who have a firm grasp of fiddle technique, who are able to play by ear, and who want to learn the traditional Québécois style.
Advanced
For those who have mastered the violin and who wish to improve their skills and gain insight into traditional Québécois music.
Expert
For those wanting to deepen their knowledge of “québécois répertoire”. This class is ideal for those wanting to work on improvisation and on specific ornamentation in order to give their pieces a softer and more natural sound.
